President's
Letter
The Omaha Ski Club
has had a busy social calendar. Recent events have included
the October 22 hayrack ride at Santa’s Woods. 16 people braved
the cold Nebraska air to ride in the hay and roast hot dogs
and marshmallows and enjoy hot chocolate.
A large group
gathered on Spirit World on November 9 to taste wine and
listen to member, Denny Lewis’ expert insight into the various
wines sampled. Those attending were given a discount on any
wines subsequently purchased for enjoyment at home. With
Thanksgiving rapidly approaching it’s nice to try some
different wines as potential pairings with the Holiday
Bird.
Upcoming events include social gatherings in
anticipation of the trips being organized for the enjoyment of
our members to Summit County, Lake Tahoe and Ski Cooper/A
Basin/Keystone. See information elsewhere in this newsletter
on those trips and the social gatherings.
With many ski
areas already open and many scheduled to be opening soon, the
anticipation builds for another great season of skiing. Check
out some of our trip offerings and see if one of those works
for your schedule and budget.
We’re always looking for
new ideas for trips and social gatherings. Share some of your
innovative suggestions with any board member!

2006-7 Ski Season
Trip Update
Our December trip
to Summit County is half full and our March trip to Ski
Cooper/Summit County is starting to catch up. Our FSA trip to
Heavenly, Lake Tahoe, is our big winner so far with 30 club
members already signed up. Two spaces left, then names will go
on a wait list. Contact our trip captains for more information
